Patrick Quinn was an American actor native of Philadelphia. He studied Theater at Temple University. He made his Broadway debut in the 1976 revival of Fiddler on the Roof. He also performed in the Broadway productions of Lend Me a Tenor, Beauty and the Beast, A Class Act and the 1998 revival of The Sound of Music. He was elected to the Council of Actors' Equity Association as a Chorus Councillor in 1977 and as a Principal Councillor in 1982. In 1985, he was elected Third Vice-President, First Vice-President in 1988, and finally President of Actors’ Equity Association in 2000. He was set to become the next Executive Director of Actors' Equity Association when he died. He also participated in the founding of the non-profit organization Equity Fights AIDS in 1987, which merged with Broadway Cares in 1992. |
