Elizabeth Tabish is an American actress and filmmaker best known for her portrayal as Mary Magdalene in “The Chosen.” She earned her M.A. in Theater and B.A. in Screen Studies from Oklahoma State University, focusing on surrealism, absurdism and experimental cinema and theater. After completing her education, Elizabeth moved to Austin, TX and entered the film and commercial industry where she acted in various commercials, independent films and some network television. During this time, she felt the need to write, direct and edit her own projects, all of which focus on female protagonists and utilize her favorite cinematic styles, where she found real fun in recreating the aesthetic of 1960-70's genre films. Elizabeth has won numerous prestigious awards for these short films, including Best Short Film (US) at the 2019 BLOW-UP International Arthouse Filmfest Chicago, Best Short Film at the 2019 Lonestar Film Festival, Best Director at the 2019 LA Under The Stars Film Festival, Best Director at the 2019 Grapevine Film Festival, the Jury Award at the 2018 Portland Horror Film Festival as well as being included in the 2019 SXSW Austin Film Society Showcase. She is the Co-Founder and Art Director of The Arthouse Film Festival (formerly Austin Arthouse Film Festival), now in its 6th and final year.
