Florence Wilson-Toy is in her first year of sixth form at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester. She has known ever since nursery, that she wanted to play the trumpet. It became a later discovery that she wanted to do it for a career. Florence grew up playing with local brass bands and jazz groups and when she’s not practising, she loves spending time with her friends around Manchester. She is a former member of the National Youth Brass Band flugelhorn section and a current member of the National Youth Orchestra. During her school day she loves to make the most of outreach projects and working with charities such as Turtle Song, part of English Touring Opera, who bring music, song writing, movement and singing to people with dementia. |
