Overview: Pets play an important role in the lives of many young children. Learning to care for pets, whether they are small animals such as goldfish, or larger animals such as cats or dogs, helps children develop a sense of responsibility. For those unable to own pets, visiting the pets of family and friends can also be a great learning experience. This week in Play School we look at lots of different types of pets and their unique features and natures. We also look at the responsibilities that come with owning pets – such as grooming, regular exercise and feeding. Each day we go "through the windows" to meet different animal companions, including cats, dogs, guinea pigs, a pony and chooks. We are also visited in studio by Teo's dog, Billie, and some goldfish. |
