Overview: This week in Play School, we explore sensory play and the theme of "messy". Sensory play utilises all five senses, but the sense of touch is the most frequent focus of "messy play". Sensory play encourages creativity, exploration of materials and the development of fine motor skills. Children develop early maths, science and language skills through messy play. Throughout the week we get messy playing with paint, mud, sand, clay and slime. Each day we show the Messy Montage - a film showing lots of young children having fun getting messy as they eat, play and make things! Don't be afraid of a little mess! Young children can be encouraged to clean up and pack away after activities. Join us this week for lots of gooey, slimy, messy fun! |
