Overview: Although it was 1981 that saw the introduction of the turbo entry into The Great Race with the Nissan Bluebird, it was not until 1988 that a turbo-charged machine came to the flag in the No 1 position. From this point on, The Great Race has been dominated by turbos, in particular the Sierra RS 500’s and in the latter years by the sophisticated fore wheel drive, twin-turbo GT-R of Nissan. 1992 has seen the last victory for a turbo, as they are no more. The generation of this complex technology has now passed and with the reintroduction of the V8 car we have seen The Great Race turn full circle. This video features highlights from all individual races in one action-packed release during the Turbolent Tears. |
