Overview: This is the Western Yellow-Bellied Racer. It is one of the fastest snakes native to Utah. Catching one isn't always easy because of their speed. It's also one of the most common species of snake that I see when out in the field in Utah. I can't count how many times I've been bitten by this snake but thankfully it's completely harmless.
