Overview: John Ruiz, a thirteen-year-old was excited for a fishing trip with his father. Caught up in the excitement of a big catch, John, his uncle and father forgot about the unsafe water conditions. John's father was very badly hurt, and it was John's efforts and actions that saved his father's life.
