Overview: Shumbh is informed about Devi Kaushiki by Dhumralochan, who persuades him to marry Devi Kaushiki. Dhumralochan approaches Devi Kaushiki and asks her to marry Shumbh but the Goddess puts a condition. Only if Shumbh manages to defeat Devi Kaushiki will she agree to marry Shumbh.
