Mike Butcher is a British engineer, songwriter, and musician. He began his career working at Morgan Studios, London, before moving to Belgium to work in the new expansion Morgan Studios, Brussels, where he eventually became head engineer in 1978. He was a frequent collaborator with Alan Ward, who was also an engineer at Morgan Studios, London, where they met. Butcher played guitar and co-wrote for the British punk/new wave band Elton Motello with Ward, who adopted "Elton Motello" as his pseudonym, while Butcher performed as Jet Staxx in the band and later as a solo act. Meeting little success as a band, both Butcher and Ward worked as record producers and songwriters. |
