Sotiria Leonardou (June 28, 1951 - November 9, 2019) was an award-winning Greek singer and actress. She was born in Athens and studied music, theater, dance and martial arts. She was a student of Jerzy Grotowski in Southern Italy, attended a Katakali Indian theater seminar in India and "African ritual magic in theater" in South Africa where she lived for 4 years. She has participated in many concerts with the orchestra of Mikis Theodorakis. She also participated in the tapes of Nikolas Asimos (Illegal tape No. 000008 and The lantern of Diogenes). She first became known from her participation in the film Rebetiko by Costas Ferris, in which she starred but also participated in the writing of the script. She also starred in Pantelis Voulgaris' film Acropol, while she is the screenwriter of An African Tale and the founder of the theater stage Cyber Scene. For the last few years she had been fighting a rare disease which had confined her to bed. He passed away on November 9, 2019. |
