Brian Paul Schmidt AC, FRS, FAA is the Vice-Chancellor of the Australian National University. He was previously a Distinguished Professor, Australian Research Council Laureate Fellow and astrophysicist at the University's Mount Stromlo Observatory and Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics.
